Welcome, friend. Stay awhile, and listen...

So, for those who don't keep up with such things, the 5th Edition of Wizards of the Coast's Dungeons and Dragons released recently. Shortly after my Players' Handbook arrived, I was reading it in the car while we were on our way somewhere, and my wife started chatting with me about how she'd always been interested in D&D as a form of make-believe, but that the rules always seemed like they would get in the way, and that other players and the DM would be the peanut butter sullying the chocolate of her make-believe and dress-up.

So all of that led to my challenge; namely, to play in a game before she decided that she wouldn't enjoy it. We chatted some more about the system, and she started telling me about her character. We even managed to talk a friend into joining us for the adventure, and we've since been geeking out about the characters and stories we want to see come alive. As things get moving, we'll all be posting about the experience, and see if the geekcitement is contagious.
